Bulling often leads to Suicide - People still don’t get it
As we begin a new year, lets all commit
to stamp out bulling. We do not need to loose another young man in his prime.
In August 2016, a beautiful young man
Danny Fitzpatrick took his own life as he could no longer cope with the bulling
he was subjected to on a daily basis at school.
How many more lives are we going to
loose before this unnecessary, pointless and damaging behaviour is stopped?
Bullies are so scared of being bullied
or being found out that they don’t have it all together so they turn into
bullies. Do they not see the damage that they do?
In today’s technological age, the
bulling never stops. It is a 24/7/365 constant attack on the person. This makes
the bulling much worse as the person who is being bullied never ever gets away
from it.
When I was a kid, I was bullied by most
of the kids in the school. It was a horrific time in my life. Fortunately, when
I went home for the day, the bulling stopped.
However, my parents did not believe me as to how bad it was and told me
to ignore them. Worst advice ever!!!!!! The added twist to this bad advice was
that I stopped going to my parents for help.
It is time to turn everything around.
Being bullied does not make you stronger, as is suggested by the “suck it up
mate” mentality. We need to stand up for the bullied everywhere. If you see someone being bullied, step up and
stop it. Forget about whipping out your phone and filming it for the internet.
Get involved. Stop it. Bullies only have power if you let them. The more of us
that stand up against bulling, the more bullies will loose their “power” and
stop.
If only Danny’s teachers and principal
had done something for this yong man. He could still be with us today. My heart
goes out to Danny’s family, who lost their son/brother at such a young age.
I BEG YOU, DO SOMETHING!! STOP BULLING!!!
